How to play Feetle

Type a word that differs from the last one by exactly one letter, then press Enter. MAIL can become FAIL, FAIL can become FALL, and so on down to the goal. You cannot add or remove letters, swap their order or repeat a word you already used. The changed letter lights up so you can see your path.

Stuck? Hint names the next word on a shortest route from where you are, and Undo takes back your last step. The full rules, with worked examples, are in the how to play guide.

Feetle FAQ

Is this word ladder free to play?

Yes. The daily ladder, the unlimited mode and the solver are free, with no sign-up and no app to install.

When does the daily ladder change?

A new start word arrives every day at 00:00 UTC. Your steps, hints and streak are saved in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back.

What does par mean?

Par is the fewest steps a solver needs between the start word and FEET using common words. A rarer word sometimes gives a shorter route, so beating par is possible.

Who made the original game?

The game started on feetle.fun in October 2026, built on the word ladder puzzle that Lewis Carroll called Doublets. This site is a separate version with its own daily words.
